Starting at the Moerlein Lager House (115 Joe Nuxhall Way), on this 60 minute tour we learn the roots of Cincinnati’s grand brewing heritage from the first breweries on the riverfront to shipping beer worldwide from Public Landing. The tour then returns to modern day with a tour of the award winning brewery in the Moerlein Lager House, and ends with a complementary beer.

Starting at the Christian Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room (1621 Moore St), we share the stories of the men who built and worked in 19th century breweries, exploring dangerous working conditions, grueling hours, and the growing divide between the workers who made the beer and the “Beer Barons” who built fortunes by producing America’s best brews. Tours include a trip deep into the subterranean lagering cellars of the Schmidt Brothers / Crown Brewery. This is a 90 minute tour.

 

Gilded Brew Tour

Starting at the Findlay Market Biergarten (corner of West Elder St and Elm St), we witness the evolution of the brewing industry through the size, complexity, & architectural grandeur of our historic breweries. Along the way we share the stories of those who built or doomed these brewing empires during beer’s industrial revolution. Tours include a visit into the vast subterranean lagering cellars of the Jackson Brewery. This is a 90 minute tour.

 

Brunch, Beer, & Breweries

Starting at the Christian Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room (1621 Moore St), we hop on the streetcar to the Moerlein Lager House. With our first beer tasting, we take a behind-the-scenes tour of the brewpub and the rich history showcased there. After brunch, we head back to the Brewery District on the streetcar, learning about our grand brewing heritage still there. Back at the Moerlein Brewery, we grab our next round of tastings for a tour of the brewery and historic malt cellars, before finishing our day at the bar.

 

Glasses & Growlers Tour

Starting at the Christian Moerlein Malthouse Tap Room (1621 Moore St), we share the stories of Cincinnati breweries & the controversial role that Cincinnati’s beer industry played in filling the city with 1,000s of saloons. We envision daily life in Over-the-Rhine when it was one of America’s most crowded neighborhoods & explore the multiple roles that saloons played in 19th century life. Tours include a visit into the historic Hudepohl Brewery bottling plant as well as the subterranean lagering cellars of the Schmidt Brothers / Crown Brewery. This is a 90 minute tour.

A Toast to the Trail: Celebrating the Opening of the Brewing Heritage Trail

Join us for an evening to celebrate the grand opening of the first phase of the Brewing Heritage Trail. A gala dinner at the Woodward Theater, we’ll celebrate with dinner, drinks, silent auction, and a program of speakers MC’d by Dan Hurley sharing the story of why and how we built the Trail. Your ticket includes dinner, two drink tickets, and special limited edition souvenir. Doors open at 6:15P with dinner at 7P and program at 8P.

The Trail Comes Alive

Experience the first phase of the Brewing Heritage Trail, as the newly installed signage comes alive with costumed reenactors, beer brewing demonstrations, breweriana displays, kids activities, and more. The event is free, but a special VIP ticket gets you bonus access to a historic saloon, the historic Hudepohl brewery, and a bar in the bowels of the Schmidt Bros/Crown brewery cellars and tunnels along with a special limited edition souvenir. Event is 11A-4P.
